Singing The Wheel of BrigitAna is devotional to the ancient Goddesses of Britain who gave the land her name. They were Brigit and Ana, which became BrigitAna – Britannia – Britain. The album is called The Wheel of BrigitAna in order to link the Goddesses with the name of our land.
The song cycle was written in Glastonbury between 2000 and 2003 by Sally Pullinger. VocalAna is a group of goddess-loving women which includes some Priestesses of Avalon. Sally started the group with two friends in 2001, and now this little Goddess choir consists of twelve women, including our drummer, Lydia Lyte.
